WHAT IS A STORY MOST QUEER?
A Story Most Queer is a podcast featuring weekly narratives by and about queer people.

WHO IS WELCOME TO SUBMIT A STORY?
Any person who is queer-identifying is welcome to submit a story.

WHAT KIND OF STORIES ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?
There is no limit on genre or style: fiction, nonfiction – hey, even fanfic, you know we’ll read us some fanfic – are welcome. Send us your fluff, your coffee shop AUs, your high school angst, your interstellar explorations and existential quandaries – we want it all! If it’s queer and well-written then it’s absolutely a contender. There is no rating limit.

DO ALL THE STORIES HAVE TO BE ABOUT QUEER PEOPLE?
Yes: we are looking for stories in which the main characters are queer-identified, and we mean that in the broadest sense possible. They can have characters of all orientations, but must involve some queerness.

DOES MY STORY HAVE TO BE EXCLUSIVE TO THE PODCAST, OR WRITTEN FOR IT?
Nope! We just want to tell good stories, we don’t mind if they exist in the world already. We typically ask that it’s not published in audio format anywhere else for six months following the release.

HOW MANY WORDS SHOULD THE STORY BE?
We’re looking for episodes to average 15-30 minutes. That translates to about 2000-4000 words depending on the style of the story.

WHAT IF I HAVE A LITTLE MORE OR LESS THAN THAT?
Please submit regardless! As we continue releasing episodes we will be looking to find variations on the format theme. It may fit better in a future multi-part or super-sized episode!

ANYTHING I SHOULD AVOID OR INCLUDE?
No! Art is art. Tell your story the way you want to.

WILL THERE BE CONTENT WARNINGS?
Yes. We’ll have general content ratings as well as a list of potential triggers for our audience.

HOW DOES CREDITING WORK?
You will be credited as the author of the story at the top and bottom of the podcast. It will also be in show notes. Any social media or website you would like us to provide to listeners who enjoy your story is welcome and encouraged!

CAN I NARRATE MY OWN STORY?
Absolutely, though we need to assure that the recording will be of a suitable quality, so we can’t promise it for everyone. We’d love that, though, so if we accept your submission (and you’ve indicated that desire on our submission form) we’ll talk to you about it.

WHAT ABOUT RIGHTS?
You own your story. We only want the right to read it on this podcast and use that reading to represent and promote this show.

WHAT ABOUT COMPENSATION?
We currently pay $50 per accepted submission.

WHEN WILL I FIND OUT IF MY STORY HAS BEEN SELECTED?
We hope to have a better answer for you in the future, but for now, we don’t know: we’re just getting started with this! If you have any questions, though, you should email astorymostqueer@gmail.com.
